This design-based book is the result of my exploration of the design possibilities of folding clay.  I was inspired by the paper folding and origami arts as well as the fabric arts of silk Shibori scarves and ribbons. The strong design element of the fold lines seem to naturally invoke a bold and dramatic look. Vibrant colours are the result of the beautiful high gloss metallic finish of the mica powders. It's a great combination!

Reader reviews:

[The Fan Fold eBook]  was extremely well done. I've been paying a lot of attention to the way tutorials are written (always seeking to make my own better) and yours are the best I've seen. I'm a stickler for details and good design and reading through your tutorial was a breath of fresh air! I appreciated all the care that was taken in formatting, follow-through, and good instruction.

Just as I  was about to try Helen's "Manipulating Polymer Shapes" in the May issue of Art Jewelry I receive an e-mail regarding a new e-book, "Fan Fold Designs".
Within minutes it was downloaded and on my tablet for weekend reading. I really share her enthusiasm for Origami and its adaptation, in some cases, to Polymer Clay. Without giving away any secrets, her method of folding the clay is brilliant and so well described, along with a video. It is much easier than the method I demonstrated at the January meeting using the  Fiskars crimper, and much deeper folds of course.
I highly recommend this e-book for anyone who wants to try a few good summer projects.
