Post high
school I was passionate about fashion and enrolled in a Fashion Merchandising
Program.Loved the program but no jobs
were forthcoming and after a stint as a secretary to an Actuary (how did that
happen!) I went back to school for a Computer Science degree.I started as a Programmer Analyst in
1983.In 2008 I ended my IT career as a
Business Analyst and went into my current very happy state of early semi-retirement.
Throughout
this “technical” career path the passion to do creative things was always
simmering (photography, gardening, cooking). But when the polymer clay bug hit it was like nothing else.It started in the summer of 1997 and I remain
fascinated and driven-to-clay to this day.
I am a
founding member of the Southern Ontario Polymer Clay Guild, and a member of the Toronto & Grand River Bead Societies. I teach workshops, have had articles
published in Art Jewelry, Step-by-Step Beads From Polymer to Art and PolymerCafe, as well, I sell the various
products featured on this website. My necklace "Coleus" won first place in the 2110 International Polymer Clay Association Progress & Possibilities Competition in the Intermediate Jewelry category. My necklace "Waves" was chosen from 130 entries for the cover of the 2011 Toronto Bead Society calendar.
Exploration
of design and developing new surface techniques fuel my continued passion with
the fascinating medium of polymer clay.
